The children have gone home for summer holidays, back to one of the twenty leprosy colonies in the local leprosy confederation. They were very happy and excited.
They'll be gone until July.
We had school in the morning for a few hours, and then most of the children left immediately for the train station, without waiting for lunch. It's a 30-minute walk to the station.
What surprised me was that they all go home by themselves on the train (at Rising Star, our campus was isolated in the country, and parents had to make their way to us to get them--by train, bus, walking).
The train is free for children.
Even very small children just tag along with the older ones.
My impression is that colonies are between about 2-4 hours away.
Siblings, if I understood correctly.
